About
James has over 30 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical and health care industry. He has held pivotal positions in the major global pharmaceutical companies (of the "Fortune-500") and the US State Government. James moved to the US from Hong Kong in 1977. After staying in the US for 32 years, he took up an expatriate position in China in 2009 and later moved to Hong Kong in 2015.
James took an early retirement in May of 2019 and is currently working as an independent strategic adviser, coach and consultant for individuals and corporate. Highlights of his previous professional experiences include setting up global/local business teams, negotiating/settling business deals and overseeing/monitoring budget of ~ 3.7 billion Euros. He has served as global speaker/panelist in many renowned professional conferences/venues in China, Germany, Korea, UK, US, etc. and has extensive managerial expertise in clinical research, sourcing & negotiation and executing off-shoring business models. Before retiring, he was the associate director overseeing clinical research activities of 16 countries in the Asia Pacific for a medical care & medical device company (of the “Fortune-300”) of Germany.
James is fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and is well adapted to the culture of the Eastern and Western societies. Due to his extensive professional background, he has insight and in-depth knowledge of contemporary development of the global pharmaceutical industry and local medical/healthcare systems. He is extremely knowledgeable and familiar with current global business practices, economic and political trends.
Depending on the situation, James will be able to provide executive help in the scope of: strategic development of the business direction/objective, structural development of the business system, staff development, and much more.
